The jlab jbuds air sport have a heavy-handed bass response. In a similar vein, studies heed the importance of tempo. According to one published in the research quarterly for exercise and sport , there’s a direct relationship between exercise intensity and music tempo. For instance, cyclists prefer 125-140bpm, while runners prefer 123-131bmp. Allmusic review by richie unterberger sixteen archetypal sensitive male performances from the dawn of the age of mellow. There are some exceptions, like warren zevon's "carmelita," and leonard cohen's "bird on the wire," leon russell's "a song for you," and todd rundgren's "hello it's me. " but generally the sentimental airhead quotient is unreasonably high, including adult contemporary radio standards that us rock critic types love to make fun of by the likes of stephen bishop , rupert holmes , dan fogelberg , dave mason , and paul davis. Falling somewhere in between the poles are james taylor ("fire and rain"), leo sayer ("giving it all away"), harry chapin ("taxi"), and john sebastian ("she's a lady"), as well as the odd obscure name like jake holmes.

Apparently, ozzy osbourne may hold the key to happiness. A recent study has found that "extreme" music genres -- including heavy metal, emo, punk and screamo -- may actually help calm angry listeners. Researchers say the results contradict the notion such music is linked to aggression and delinquency. The study, published in the journal frontiers in human neuroscience in may, was conducted at australia's university of queensland. Researchers asked 39 extreme-music lovers to describe a frustrating situation involving relationships, finances or work. To measure participants' emotions, researchers monitored their heart rates and asked them how they felt throughout the anger-inducing process. Some participants then sat in silence for 10 minutes, while others spent 10 minutes listening to the extreme song of their choice.
